Rohingyas are minority muslims of Myanmar who were described by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres as "one of, if not the, most discriminated people in the world”.
Rohingya village Project (stage 1)
Stage 1: Building a village with 50 shelters
Location:Cox’s Bazaar, Bangladesh
Aim of project: At the moment hundred of thousands of Rohingyas are living in very poor, congested conditions in Cox’s Bazaar, which is the world’s largest refugee settlement. Aim is construct a village for 50 of the most vulnerable, desperate families. Over 80% of the 1 million refugees in this camp are women and children.
Each family will be housed in a 2-bed shelter that will be made from bamboo with a concrete base. It will also have a safe cooking area.
Cost per shelter: £665
